Now that nearly everyone on this planet is into video blogging, what better way to do it than with a slim, convenient camcorder you can use to shoot anywhere, any time?
Presenting, Pure Digital Technologies’ sleek and smooth digital camcorder: the Flip Mino.
Like its older brother — Flip Ultra — this sexy baby brings video recording to the streets. At only 3.94 inches high, 1.97 inches wide and 0.63 inches thick, taking the Mino anywhere can be a breeze. Plus it’s got the same 2GB capacity as the Ultra, guaranteed to hold at least 60 minutes of your video clips.
Though approximately $30 more expensive than the Ultra, the Mino actually offers a few upgrades. Instead of the AA battery and chunky buttons, the Mino sports a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and touch-sensitive buttons. It also boasts of an omni-directional microphone — a step up from the Ultra’s wide-range version.
Though the Mino kept 640×480 pixels video quality of its predecessor, it does have sensors that can easily adjust depending on the light settings of your location, so the resulting clips aren’t poor at all.
The most important service the Mino has to offer the video blogging set, however, is its built-in integration with MySpace and AOL videos. Just plug-in the Mino’s pop-up USB port and you’re all set.
Best of all, it works on both PCs and Macs. Now that’s a major catch, especially for an Apple-head like me.
Sexy, functional and way convenient — major thumbs up, I say.
